Our mission is to promote a community of informed, inspired, and committed citizens who are actively involved in confronting the challenges facing our neighborhoods and improving the quality of life for all of its Allentown residents.
For those of you who may not know us we are an organization comprised of neighborhood volunteers that reside in downtown Allentown, PA. Our neighborhood boundaries are Gordon St. to Sumner Ave. and west of North 7th to North 12th Sts.
Many of us have been active in the organization since its onset way back in the early 1990's but there are new members that join everyday. Membership is easy; all that is required is that you love your neighborhood, you want to fight to make things better, and you help us out. You can help in many ways, at any time, with no time restrictions (WE PROMISE).
Here are some of the many ways you can help
- Attend meetings
- Deliver newsletter in your neighborhood
- Help us with our community garden
- Teach the 4-H youth one of your skills; whether that be cooking, woodworking, sewing, crafting, etc.
- Continuing to support our efforts by making a financial contribution to our group. Donations may be sent by check and made out to: 8th Ward Neighborhood Block Watch and sent to: 706 North 8th Street, Allentown, PA 18102
- and most importantly by looking out for your neighbors.
